Thriving CSG named in top 20 of elite business profit list

18 December 2024 by CSG

CSG’s long-serving managing director has been named as one of the most successful business leaders in the UK in an elite list published this week.

Neil Richards, who has been at the helm of the leading waste management specialist since 2012, is ranked 13th overall in the E2E Profit 100 track 2024 list, published by The Independent media outlet.

Neil is rubbing shoulders with the likes of EG Group Chief Executive Mohsin Issa and Iceland Foods Group Chief Executive Tarsem Dhaliwal.

The accolade comes off the back of extraordinary financial results by CSG, with record-breaking turnover of £110m and profits of £13m announced in its most recent accounts.

Neil said: “We have enjoyed a fantastic year with many achievements to be proud of, not least our best-ever financial results.

“I am sure Bunny Hart, who founded the company 90 years ago with a single Dennis tanker, would be extremely proud of the CSG of today.

“It is, of course, a source of great pride to be named on the E2E Profit 100 track 2024 list amongst some of the country’s most respected leaders.

“But this success of CSG is a testament to the hard work of the whole team. The success last year was the culmination of many years of evolution and the diversification of our business.  We have clear goals to continue our progression as we strive for a cleaner, safer future where everyone can thrive.”

CSG continued its growth this month by acquiring well-established tankering business Eurotech Environmental Limited, based in Newark.

CSG is still owned by the Hart family, including Heather and Hiliary Hart, the daughters of Bunny Hart.

In collaboration with Go Live Data and Experian, the E2E Profit 100 is based on official data, making it a transparent and merit-based selection.

A spokesperson said: “The various lists feature companies that are excelling, experiencing consistent growth and presenting disruptive business strategies.

“They are creating an impact not just in their own sector, but also on a nationwide – and in some cases a global – scale.”
