A Pershore truck driver celebrates two decades of driving around picturesque Cotswolds villages and has no plans to put on the brakes.

Brian Pitchford has dedicated 20 years to waste management specialist, CSG, and finds the customer interaction and rural scenery his favourite part of the job.

The 54-year-old has spent much of his career on the UK roads from transporting vegetables or vehicle batteries to working for large haulage companies and feels his specialist waste collection role brings him the most enjoyment.
Brian said: “I love being outdoors and out on the road, so feel there is no better place to be spending my days than driving around the Cotswolds.”

As a driver operator, Brian is responsible for safely emptying cesspits and septic tanks for domestic customers, as well as forecourt cleansing and the safe processing and disposal of hazardous or chemical waste.
“Over the years I have got to know many of our customers and feel privileged they share their amazing life stories with me.

“Training is ongoing, and rightly so, especially when transporting hazardous substances. Waste collection isn’t a typical job people would consider but I feel CSG has always looked after me and I like how I am trusted to get on with the job. Once I have my schedule, I can plan my day and route and choose what fabulous location to stop at for lunch.”
Bradley Smith, transport depot supervisor for CSG, added: “Brian’s experience and ease to work with, makes him a valuable member of my team.”
