Salary: £28,000 p/a

Role Type: 18 Months Maternity leave cover.

Hours: 37.5 p/w

Role Accountability: 

  • To provide a professional HR and training administrative support service to all functions throughout the Group.
  • To maintain accurate and legally compliant HR and training databases.
  • Ensure compliance with the Group’s Health and Safety policy and behaviours.
  • Ensure personal responsibilities under the Group’s H&S policy are understood.
  • Demonstrate CSG performance behaviours.
  • To provide professional HR and training administrative support to the Group.
  • Maintain an effective and accurate filing system for all personnel related information and correspondence and ensure that any omissions of required documentation are chased for through liaison with employee, appropriate manager or third party.
  • Raise and issue employment contracts and related documentation to permanent and temporary employees prior to commencement of employment and monitor their return.
  • Process new starters, including collation and filing of all relevant documents, accurate calculation of holiday entitlements, requesting, chasing and checking of references and ensuring that all relevant salary information is advised to Payroll accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Complete employment references accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that sickness records on the electronic HR system are regularly and accurately maintained and updated.
  • To monitor the allocation of long service awards, including the purchasing of gifts and taking ownership of all related administration.
  • To assist the HR Coordinators with the provision of support for the training and development activities of staff including booking of courses, updating the training database and issuing joining instructions.
  • To assist the HR Coordinators with the administration of the Group CPC programme.
  • Sending of probation passed letters to employees that have successfully passed their probationary periods throughout the business.
  • Maintain accurate HR and training databases.
  • Ensure all electronic HR and training data is updated as required.
  • Ensure all paper-based HR and training data is updated as required.
  • To provide professional support with the recruitment process when employing new talent into the business.
  • Writing, formatting and posting accurate, appealing and legally compliant job advertisements on the relevant job boards, forums and the company website. This will also include managing and maintaining these adverts, ensuring that they are removed once the relevant position has been filled.
  • Maintaining communication with direct candidates via telephone and email, including interview invitations and outcomes.
  • Liaise with agencies, when necessary, with regards to relevant vacancies.
  • Supporting managers with first stage interviews, when necessary, this can include travel to other depots.
  • Managing incoming recruitment queries and speculative CV’s, replying with suitable correspondence.
  • Supporting the HR Advisor and HR Manager in ensuring that a fair and legally compliant recruitment process is followed throughout the business.
